Telling the truth is sacred.
A matter of honor.
The honorable tell the truth.
The cowardly stay silent.
The most evil tell lies.
Sacrilege.
Blasphemy.
We shall pluck your silvered tongues,
From your throats.
Hang your lies from the rafters,
Threaded upon heartstrings.
We can hear you.
Ragged.
Breathing in the dark.
Can taste your lies upon the air,
With stolen tongues of serpents.
Can you feel us?
A forgetfulness.
Some creeping sense of dread.
Gangly limbs.
Shadows in nighttime –
Fingers pulling at your flesh.
We’ll know,
If you lie to us.
