Within my clenched fists,
Palms slowly relaxing,
Exposing palms to the universe.
In one:
Humanism.
In the other:
Misanthropy.
Fists clenching again.
I continue to be mistreated,
By humanity.
No matter how much I try to help.
The scales,
Shift.
The weight of a heart –
Vastly outweighed.
Standing at the gates,
To the underworld.
Neck of Anubis,
Bloody.
Crumpled at feet.
My muzzle caked –
With the gore of gods.
I understand power,
So very well.
Understand my present lack,
Even better.
Fists clenched,
Compressing idealisms,
Into diamonds.
Tell me
Why,
Does humanity deserve to live?
