Almost like I keep a mental tally;
For later use.
An old fashioned chalkboard,
With yellow chalk.
Drawn into a simple “T.”
On one side,
Misanthropy.
A new mark for every cruelty,
I witness,
Or experience.
Humanism,
On the other side.
For kindnesses.
Ultimately:
They get to choose their own fate.
Misanthropy \\ Humanism.
