The hardest part,
Living as a shitty monk.
Letting go of what your heart wants,
No matter how much you want something.

Standing alone on the mountain,
Feet dangling over the edge.
Seeking serenity,
As the wind blows.

Whispering secrets,
Darkened bedrooms,
Learning souls.
Learning selves.

It’s never about you.
Watching emotions coalesce,
They take time to crystallize.
We take time to form.

No matter how many quatrains,
One writes.
Pages hiding truths,
Only the heart could ever know.

A monk trains,
A monk learns,
A monk melds,
A monk grows.

You must have all the strength in the world.
Fortitude beyond mere clan name,
As if resilience could paint our futures.
Not merely reflect where we’ve been.

Holding creation in one palm,
Destruction in the other.
Open palm,
Clenched fist.

I’ll always love you.
Between this,
And our infinite fates,
Strung out into eternity.

You know me by now.
Know my will,
My way.
Know the phantom I truly am within this husk.

I do not meditate,
I only reflect.
Ponder the entirety of the universe,
Holding space for those I love.

I hold possibility,
Growth.
A thousand restless dead.
The ghosts of the fallen.

One must hunt for peace.
Roiling spirit!
Can you tame yourself?
The ultimate challenge.

A shitty monk,
Lingering at the edges of your society.
Slithering the edges of your subculture.
I can only tell the truth.

I love you.
