They want to cull the weak.
I’ll stand in their way.
The heroes are all dead.
Nobody left,
But us villains.
Why?
Why must we protect the weak?
Is nobody else willing?
Why must we watch the people,
Toil and suffer?
Beaten down by an establishment –
Used as slaves.
Sitting alone in the dark,
Wondering.
How can we help them,
In such a cruel world as this?
We owe them better than that.
The utopias we promised.
Freedoms they asked for.
No,
It was not us villains who did this.
We didn’t build these systems of oppression.
We merely tried to rip them down,
Were quickly branded monsters.
No rest for the wicked.
No justice for the different.
The house of cards is tumbling,
We can see the cracks in the facades.
No more hollow –
Empty eyes.
I’ll stand for the weak.
Because nobody stood for me.
